Crouching Tiger Martial Arts (CTMA) was founded by Brandon Contreras and his wife Sasha Contreras in 2021. Brandon primarily leads the school in American Polynesian Shaolin Kenpo (APSK) which he learned from his instructor Sr. Professor Jerry Shaw. Sasha has blended her art of Hawaiian Kenpo into the discipline creating a unique modern mixed martial art. Sasha studied under Grandmaster George Lim of Lim Family Martial Arts.
CTMA is deeply rooted in Kenpo Martial arts with influences from Shaolin Kung Fu, Brazilian jujitsu, and Polynesian arts such as Hawaiian kenpo and Kajukenbo. With the influence of all these martial arts this discipline covers four ranges of fighting punching, kicking, felling, and grappling.
Our goal is to educate our students in self-defense and traditional martial arts while creating a family oriented environment. We believe that learning martial arts can be a fun and fufilling experience with a myriad of benefits.
Sasha and Brandon met at a martial arts tournament as competitors Sasha taking the victory. Years later they met again at the gathering Malama Ohana a martial arts seminar among many schools. Sasha and Brandon fell in love and their relationship blossomed into a beautiful marriage founded on God and discipline.
